Wozniacki wins her 6th WTA title.

Caroline-Wozniacki_Caroline Wozniacki has won her second consecutive Pilot Pen tennis championship, beating Elena Vesnina 6-2, 6-4 in the final.

It is the 19-year-old’s sixth tournament title, and third this year. Wozniacki of Denmark goes into next week’s U.S. Open having won every set she played in the New Haven tuneup.

She broke Vesnina’s serve on the match’s first game, and didn’t look back, winning the match in 1 hour, 16 minutes.

The rain stopped in the afternoon, allowing the women to play for the championship outside in the 13,000-seat Connecticut Tennis Center stadium.
