Top seeded Caroline Wozniacki is out at the Rogers Cup.

Roberta Vinci Roberta Vinci of Italy serves during her 1st round match against Romina Oprandi of Italy during day one of the Moorilla Hobart International at Domain Tennis Centre on January 9, 2011 in Hobart, Australia.

Caroline Wozniacki is out at the Rogers Cup, a victim of 22-ranked Roberta Vinci of Italy 4-6, 5-7. The Dane was the victim of her own inability to complete shots and a swirling wind at Centre Court. The tightly contested first set was settled on a late break for Vinci. Wozniacki appeared to gather herself in the second, running out to a 5-1 lead. However, Vinci rolled off six straight games. In the end, Wozniacki was left to slump off the court with her head bowed, returning a tepid wave when the crowd cheered her off.

That means the top two seeds here are gone – Kim Clijsters retired Tuesday night after suffering an abdominal tear. The next three seeds – Vera Zvonareva, Victoria Azarenka and Maria Sharapova – will not play until later in the day.
